Brainstorm Week 8 - Nick Roberts
I thought it was very interesting to read about Ecuador's new constitutional amendments regarding the rights of nature and how it is the first of its kind in the world. I think this is a great step forward for ecological conservation and Ecuador is a great place for this movement to gain a lot of traction being home of the Galapagos which helped our understanding of nature and evolution so much. This movement is also very important to the idea of convivencia as it encourages people to not take advantage of the earth but rather respect it and live with it. If people learn and understand this idea it will help the world and everyone on it immensely as we begin to adjust to the idea of not taking advantage of other peoples to get ahead ourselves, but rather to live with these other people and create an environment where everyone is able to thrive.
