Millions ideas of Indigenous relations and policies relate to the idea of buen vivir and mother earth because they rely on the idea of balance. Million writes that "the well being of all entities relies on the interdependency and balance of relations in a place" (Million, 100). The last part, "in a place", is particularly interesting because it ties together the idea of balance and mother earth or la pacha mama. Both writings identify mother earth as a source of balance for humankind, and that that balance creates an environment where humans are mutually beneficial with the land, not colonizing like western culture. 

Priscilla Solis Ybarra's article about Goodlife writing connects to the idea of buen vivir because a lot of the ideas that goodlife writing explore stem from concepts of buen vivir. Ybarra writes that the goodlife explores "relations with one another and with the natural environment" (Ybarra, 5), which reflects how buen vivir is a mindset and way of living where balance comes from the earth. Additionally, goodlife writing shows how Mexican American and Chicanx culture connects to Indigenous roots, whose way of life was centered around buen vivir. It is a modern application of buen vivir, using the core concepts of buen vivir as a decolonial practice.
