Ofrendas for the Future Live Blogs 1

After watching the Ofrendas for the Future online gathering, I was particularly fascinated by Giovanna White's dance performance at the beginning of the session. It was really interesting to learn about White's background as a University of Washington (UW) graduate and how she danced in various countries. Her performance was very impressive and enjoyable to watch. I also noticed that her shirt said "Black Lives Matter" which stood out to me especially during these challenging times of police brutality. I felt like this gave a very powerful message that remained with me throughout the event. I hope to be able to learn more about the dance form performed by White and its broader significance.
