Thursday Draft -Linda Barragan
1. In 'Hip Hop Feministas", one of the members says "if you don't include women, there is no hip hop" (1:01). When these artists come in contact without that mindset in the industry, how does it make them feel? How does it affect their art?
2.In the "Bios for Feministas", Taki Amaru says, "inspired by the mountains and understanding that everything lives and coexists (hills, sun, moon, minerals, water, rain, wind, plants, etc.) I decided to share this philosophy". How does she interpret this into her art?
3. In "Cyphers: Hip-Hop and Improvisation", it says "Disadvantaged communities across the world are utilizing the resistant history of African American, Hispanic, and Caribbean Hip-hop". My question is why is it hip-hop and not another type of genre
4. How does learning Kichwe allow the artist to heal? How is learning a language helpful in the healing process?
