Tuesday Draft Questions - Karen Velderrain-Lopez

1. In "What Ecuador's Feminist History Can Teach Us All," it is discussed that Ecuador doesn't have " big privileged class of white feminists running the show" (Amor). How does white feminism influence what is talked about in the global sphere of feminism and how is that harmful? How can we bring other types of feminism to the forefront in the US and what benefits would it bring?

2. Amor's op-ed discusses la Marhca de las Putas and discusses how some people have taken back the term puta as a form of empowerment. How does taking back this term, or the reclaiming of other terms, empower groups and individuals? How might it hurt them?

3. The interview with Julietta Paredes has a discussion about Communitarian Feminism. How does Communitarian feminism relate to the topic of convivencia, a topic that we learned about in the Chicana perspective? How do we see communitarian feminism and convivencia in our social movements here or around the world?
