Tuesday Draft Questions
1) In What Ecuador's Feminist History Can Teach Us All, Bani Amor mentions "Today, about 40 percent of our congress is made up of women, ranking 20th in women's governmental leadership worldwide" (Amor, 2017). Why do you think more women are part of the government in Ecuador? What is unique about Ecuador that allows for this?
2) In "Communitarian Feminism is an Action-based Way of Thinking". Interview with Julieta Paredes, Julieta Paredes says "We interchangeably use feminism and communitarian feminism because we do not use feminism adjectively" (Zaniboni, 122). What is the importance of communitarian feminism and what makes it unique in Bolivia?
3) In Dissidence and Communiatrian Feminism, Julieta Paredes describes how "Patriarchy recycles itself and feeds on the social and revolutionary changes of this same humanity" (Paredes). I was intrigued to learn more about Paredes's description of this recycling of patriarchy. How can we mitigate or even inhibit the reappearance of any form of patriarchy?
