1) At 41:00 in the video, the speaker remarks that "La Cultura Cura means that culture heals". She goes on to say that there are "elements in all cultures that give health to people". What are some examples we see in other cultures - what are some similarities and differences to these elements?
2) At 17:41 in the video, the narrator claims that "the good artist was believed to be deified or close to G-d", what qualities can define a "good artist" that establishes this relationship? Is it quality of work or simply effort exerted or a combination of both?
3) El Mundo Femenino: Chicana Artists of the Movement-- A Commentary on Development and Production highlights several artists various expressions through different mediums such as Lopez's posters and videos (p314), Hernandez's oil pastels (p313), or Baca's murals (309). While they all contributed in their own way to redefining feminist roles, what form of art do you find most impactful for this social change and why? Which story did you connect with most?
